Realtor’s Murder Still a Mystery

SAANICH – It has been nearly four years since the body of Lindsay Buziak was found in a Gordon Head home.

Since then Saanich Police have investigated but have failed to make any arrests and will not confirm whether there are any suspects in the case.

Lindsay’s father say the news is discomforting: ”What is going on here? This case is so frustrating and should have been solved a long time ago”.

In 2010 Saanich investigators spoke to NBC’s Dateline for a feature story on the case. Police hoped the interviews would lead to new tips and they did. Since then, however, the case has failed to progress and police continue to deny local media access to detectives.

“They’re not available and it’s not typical that we would present a detective on a specific homicide investigation to the media,” Sgt. Dean Jantzen explained Tuesday.

Saanich Police have a team working on the case daily but it’s unclear if any progress is being made. Jantzen says it’s frustrating for Saanich investigators who are typically used to a high-success rate on cases.

According to Jantzen only two other homicides in recent memory are still unsolved by Saanich Police.
