Louise Hartland joined CTV News on Vancouver Island in April 2010 after spending the previous eight years as a Producer and Writer at CTV News in Vancouver.

Born in Wales, Louise immigrated to Canada with her parents early in life. She grew up in Victoria, and is very happy to be home, close to her family and friends.

Louise has a passion for storytelling, and she hopes her work will help inform people of the issues that matter to them and promote change.

In December 2010, Louise had the honour of traveling to Honduras with World Vision. During her two month campaign, Louise raised awareness about the needs of children and families living in poverty. The campaign found sponsorship for 2,403 children around the world.

In 2011, Louise was a Media Rider for Tour de Rock, raising money for children living with cancer and their families as well as support programs such as Camp Goodtimes. The team rode 1100 kilometers and raised more than $1.5 million for the Canadian Cancer Foundation.

Other career highlights include field producing for various award-winning breaking news events, and working on large-scale productions such as the 2010 Olympic Games and the 2009 Junos in Vancouver.

Extracurricular:
In her spare time, Louise enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, volunteering, and taking in all the West Coast has to offer.
